If you have the time, make sure to stop at Monkey Mia, which is about 800 kilometres north of Perth. This beach resort is famous for its wild bottlenose dolphins, which visit the beach every morning. You can watch the dolphins up close and even wade into the water to feed them.

 

Kalbarri National Park

 

Another great stop on your journey is Kalbarri National Park, which is about 600 kilometres north of Perth. This park is known for its spectacular gorges and rock formations and offers a range of hiking trails that allow you to explore the stunning landscape.

If you live in Melbourne and you’re not particularly fond of layovers, you’ll be happy to know that Qantas will soon be offering a direct flight between Tullamarine Airport and Learmonth Airport in Exmouth. From April 30, 2023, these five-hour flights will run twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.

 

Check the Weather

 

Before you embark on your journey, check the weather conditions. The best time to visit Exmouth is from March to October when the weather is dry and mild and the marine life is at its best. However, during the peak season from June to August, tours can get booked quickly, so make sure to book well in advance.
