We won GOLD!

Last November we were thrilled to win Gold at the WA Tourism Awards. Last weekend we were ecstatic to win Gold at Nationals.

The Australian Tourism Awards are the tourism industry’s peak Awards – recognising and promoting excellence in tourism. First established by the Federal Government in 1985, the Australian Tourism Awards are now owned and managed by Australian Tourism Awards Inc, on behalf of the tourism industry. A wide and diverse range of tourism businesses enter their state and territory Tourism Awards. Over 200 reach the prestigious status of becoming a national finalist and we were absolutely honoured to win GOLD for Ecotourism.

Whilst we couldn’t attend the ceremony held on the Sunshine Coast, we were grateful to have Tourism Minister Roger Cook accept the award on our behalf. Check out the video below ??

Our Live Ningaloo team loves our ocean environment and want to protect it for future generations to enjoy. It’s our pleasure and duty to contribute locally and globally in efforts to conserve and protect the beautiful environment and wildlife of Western Australia.

We’re privileged to have been awarded a licence to conduct oceanic tours on the Ningaloo Reef, and take our responsibility to protect the marine environment seriously.

Live Ningaloo are proud members of Ecotourism Australia and we hold an Advanced Ecotourism accreditation. It’s an internationally recognised accreditation program tying in with GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) whom establishes and manages global sustainability standards for the tourism industry with the aim of increasing sustainable tourism knowledge and practises among public and private stakeholders.

Comments attributed to Tourism Minister Roger Cook:

“My heartiest congratulations to all the WA winners at last night’s Australian Tourism Awards.

“What was really pleasing to see was how well represented WA was across so many different areas and tourism experiences, from walking tours to luxury resorts.

“I had the honour of accepting the Ecotourism gold on behalf of Live Ningaloo. They are one of just 15 companies licensed to bring the extraordinary Ningaloo Reef to tourists across the world.

“These awards are further proof that Western Australia is well and truly open for tourism and open for business.”
